What to Bring to New Employee Orientation: • KDL is required by federal law to complete a Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification for each employee. The purpose of the form is to confirm identity and eligibility for employment in the United States. The form requires you to provide specific documents to confirm your identity and eligibility for employment.The link below provides a list of acceptable documents. You must provide either (1) document from List A; or a combination of (1) document from List B and (1) document from List C.
Please review the list carefully to ensure you have the proper identification with you at orientation or you will be required to return to the Human Resources Department to complete the document within the required timeframe. Please note: If the I-9 has not been completed by the third day of your employment, you will not be able to continue working. • We have a paperless payroll system, so will be direct depositing your paychecks. You’ll need to bring your account information (routing number and account number) for any account(s) you wish to use. You can use checking and/or savings accounts at any bank or credit union. • If you're beginning in a position that requires an Associates, Bachelors or Masters degree, you’ll need to bring a copy of your college diploma or transcript (unofficial is fine) to verify that you meet the education requirement for this position.
Image Guidelines Kent District Library is a public service organization and, therefore, seeks to represent itself and the communities we serve in a manner that is in keeping with our values. To this end, employees are expected to wear their nametag at all times and present themselves in a Business Casual form of dress. As a representative of KDL, a neat and clean appearance will help maintain a welcoming environment for our patrons. The following guidelines may aid you as you consider your image as a KDL representative: • Clothing should be neat and clean. Torn or frayed clothing is not permitted. • Clothing must fit appropriately.
Midriffs, excessive cleavage, or undergarments should not be showing. • Skirts, skorts, skirt-slits, etc., shall conform to Business Casual standards. • Denim pants (of any color) are permitted only on designated days. Denim skirts and jumpers are permitted at all times as long as they conform to Business Casual standards. • Sweatpants/sweatshirts, and shorts are not permitted. • T-shirts with writing on them are not permitted (excludes Summer Reading Club shirts worn during the summer).
